Afgan Rice

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin

Method
 

  1. Rinse the rise using a strainer or rice basket dunked in water. Stir the rice around to release the starches then pour off the water and repeat 4-8 times until the water is clear. DO NOT SKIMP ON THIS RiNSING!
  2. Bring all ingredients to a boil. Then stir and cover.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let is cook for 15-20 minutes.
